FAQ
-
We typically recommend watering about 2–3 times per week, but it really depends on your lawn, plants, and the weather. Run times can vary quite a bit, so it’s important to adjust your schedule during dry spells and scale back when we’re getting regular rain to avoid overwatering.
-
We recommend servicing your system at least twice a year. A spring start-up gets everything up and running, and a fall winterization protects it for the colder months. Depending on how the system is performing, a mid-season check can also help catch any issues early and keep things running smoothly.
-
When we come out for a start-up, we’ll turn the water back on and get the system pressurized, then run through each zone to make sure everything’s working the way it should. We’ll check the heads, make any needed adjustments to coverage, and look for leaks or damage so you’re set up for the season.
-
If water is left in the system over the winter, it can freeze and cause pipes, valves, and heads to crack. Winterizing clears the water out with compressed air to protect everything. Skipping it can lead to major damage and costly repairs come spring.
-
It’s preferred that someone is home during service since we’ll need access to the main water supply and the controller. If you’re not able to be there, please contact the office ahead of time to make arrangements so we can access both.

Yes, if your system isn’t performing the way it should, we can take a look and make recommendations. That might include updating the controller, replacing worn or inefficient heads, or adjusting coverage to get better results and use water more efficiently.
